The student chapter at the University of New Hampshire at Manchester is hosted by the Engineering Technology Program. Students in the Engineering Technology Program are pursuing a BS degree and take HVAC 1 and HVAC 2, four credit lab courses that cover the fundamentals of HAVC system design and operation. A background in thermodynamics and heat transfer is required for these courses. Students in HVAC 1 are required to join ASHRAE as student members and are encouraged to purchase the fundamentals handbook as a reference for the course. Students in HVAC 2 are required to participate in the Granite State chapter’s poster session and be judged by a panel of volunteers from the chapter.
