John Price III, president of Granite
State Chapter of ASHRAE, does a guest lecture
on fan testing for Engineering Technology students at UNH Manchester..
Dave Pichette, HVAC instructor at NHCTC in Manchester, explains
the basic refrigeration cycle to a group of UNHM Mechanical
Engineering Technology students. With the aid of a special
refrigeration trainer that has heat exchangers equipped with glass
tubes, the students are able to view the condensing and boiling
refrigerant.

Peter Moore, Pike Industries in Tilton, explains the operation
of a bomb calorimeter to a Mechanical Engineering Technology(MET)
student on a recent field trip. Peter, a part time student in the
Engineering Technology Program at Manchester, analyzes samples of
waste oil fuel that Pike Industries burns in its asphalt plants
around New England. Peter will use his work with the calorimeter
as part of his senior project for the MET bachelor of science
degree.
UNHM Mechanical Engineering Technologystudent Pete Smagula
checks out a new solar collector with designer/builder Art Grass
on a recent field trip to the site in Madbury, NH. If you would
