Chapter History


The Granite State Chapter is the newest chapter in Region I.  Prior to the Chapter’s inception, the members of ASHRAE in the New Hampshire area were forced to join chapters in near-by states in order to participate on a chapter level.  

On March 19, 1987 the Granite State Chapter received its Charter.  The first meeting was held in Manchester, NH.  

Despite our small size, the Chapter has consistently provided its members (currently at 238) with quality programs and information.

Do you have any old ASHRAE Handbooks ??

We are Looking for Old Books and Chapter Records

Greetings. As the new Chapter Historian, my primary function will be to collect and organize the chapter's records. I am also interested in old ASHRAE handbooks (prior to 1975). If you have any, and you do not need them, please consider donating them to be kept as part of the Chapter's collection of historical ASHRAE documents and artifacts.

I would also be interested in old Granite State Chapter records from before mid nineties. If some of the old Board members have copies of any of those old records please let me know.

My plan for this year is to write a few articles on old HVAC systems in New Hampshire as well as writing a short biography of one or two longtime chapter members.
